RESEARCH ROOM
If you have a topic you and your Little Brother/Sister would like to learn more about, check out the below research websites for kids. You could also each select a topic and challenge each other to learn a little bit about it before your next visit!
KIDTOPIA
Start your search here! This kid-friendly search engine filters out results, so you won’t be seeing every web page that’s out there on the internet. You’ll still see some ads at the top of your results page though, so be prepared to scroll past those to find your content.
NASA SCIENCE ONLINE
NASA’s Learn Science Resource Collection is a great place to start your search for scientific content! Make sure you check the “Audience” to find age-appropriate videos.
Don’t forget to stop by Space Place for additional resources, including space-themed activities, games, videos, crafts, and even a glossary for looking up new words.
SMITHSONIAN LEARNING LAB
The Smithsonian’s online portal of Learning Lab collections is incredibly detailed and in-depth, so give yourself some time to explore! Try using the “Discover” sections or browsing the Distance Learning Resources to get started. Simply enter your search term and you’ll find dozens of links to videos, digital images, and texts covering subjects like history, art, and science.
NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC KIDS
If you’re looking for it, chances are it’s on NatGeo Kids! Learn about animals, history, science, geography, and more.
You can also explore around the site for games, activity cards, crafts, and videos.
