Valemount Programming

In order to facilitate our program expansion throughout Northern BC, we’ll be working with nonprofit partners that already exist in each community. We’re excited to announce our partnership with the Valemount Learning Centre to offer Big Brothers Big Sisters programming throughout the Robson Valley. In-school mentoring is now available in Valemount! This kind of mentoring allows for Bigs and Littles to connect over personal experiences and interests while taking part in activities at the Little’s school. Activities can include baking cookies, playing board games, or having fun on the playground.

These Bigs act as a positive role model for a Little in one of the participating elementary schools across Northern BC, and gain valuable volunteer experience while also connecting directly with professionals in a school setting.

Commit to the volunteer experience for the duration of the school year and then take the summer off!

Minimum volunteer commitment: 1 school year

TO APPLY:

Littles in the In School Mentoring Program are referred from the elementary school directly. If you are interested in getting your child involved in this program, please speak with the school and ask for a referral.
