Designing the signs

Week 3 of Connect: Gardening

This week was another super fun session of Connect: Gardening, as we made miniature terrariums and garden signs!

Everyone was given a small, round terrarium, moss, sand, and one fake succulent plant. Everyone positioned their succulents a little differently and had different designs and colour mixtures around their plant. While working on this, we learned about how terrariums work and what kind of plants would thrive in them.

After the terrariums, we made some customized garden signs! Everyone was given a small wooden pallet to paint, as well as fake flowers and leaves to attach to their sign. Some kids painted signs with words, while others wanted to paint some beautiful scenery.

Everyone's designs for both the terrariums & signs were so unique and different! The kids always have lots of fun chatting while they get to work on their projects.
