A very fun-due time!
Weeks 3 & 4 of Connect: Fun with Food!
We are back with another update on Connect: Fun with Food! In the last two sessions, the group did some fun activities like yogurt fruit cones, marshmallow slime and fondue! Read along to get all the details on how they did it!
In the third week, the kids first started off by making graham cracker art. Each child was given whole graham crackers, vanilla pudding, and tiny fruit slices. The objective was to create “fruit art” on the cracker with the fruit and use the cracker as a blank canvas. It was awesome to see all the cool designs the kids came up with! For the second and main activity, each child was given a waffle cone, yogurt, fruit, sprinkles, and whipped cream. With these ingredients, they designed an ice cream cone using yogurt and fruit for their main treat to take home.
In the next session, the main activity was making marshmallow slime and fondue! For the first activity of the night, the kids made marshmallow slime. Each child was given a bowl of marshmallows, a tablespoon of oil, and cornstarch to mix. All these mixed together created a very ooey gooey slime. The slime was edible but also pretty oily, so the kids enjoyed just playing with it more instead of eating it! For the second activity of the night, we kept with the marshmallow theme and made marshmallow fondue! Each child was given 4 jumbo marshmallows on skewers to dip in chocolate and white chocolate fondue. They also used ingredients like sprinkles and graham crackers to really make a yummy treat!
I cannot believe there is only one more week left of the group! It has gone by so fast, but it has been wonderful to see the fun the kids have been having during each session.
