Become an Event Volunteer
Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northern BC hosts a variety of fundraisers and community events each year. We rely on fundraising to generate a significant amount of funds that are needed to run our Mentoring Programs.
The committment
Event volunteers are needed during event days, which vary throughout the calendar year. As each event is different, what we are needing from our volunteers changes from event to event. Some things that you can expect are assisting at community bbqs, collecting donations, assisting with set up and take down of events, and much more. See upcoming events here.
In general, we ask for a minimum of 2 hours commitment for each event.
Who can volunteer?
Event volunteers must be at minimum of 14 years old and be able to work independently. A criminal record check is not required for most event volunteering. Specific events may have specific requirements, such as a criminal record check, FoodSafe Certificate, and providing proof of vaccination.
