Our Virtual Group Programs, also known as Connect Online, encourage the development of both peer and mentoring relationships in a fun and healthy way. Bigs and Littles connect virtually while doing hands-on activities like science experiments or arts and crafts, while also building new relationships and playing fun interactive games together.
Each group focuses on a specific theme, like Lego, Yoga, Science, or Art, with different activities pre-planned for each session. Our group programming connects youth and community mentors to explore, learn, laugh and have fun. The timing of each group varies depending on activity, but typically a group runs 1.5 to 2 hours once a week for 6 weeks in the late afternoons or evenings.
Proudly supported by CN Rail and the Prince George Community Foundation
PARENTS
Children and youth aged 8-12 are eligible for Virtual Group Programs, with specific age ranges varying depending on the type of group. Participation is free, and all supplies and materials needed for the activities are provided.
Littles will need access to a computer or device with the internet in order to participate, and will join in with the rest of their group weekly over Zoom. Our Virtual Programs Support is available to parents and guardians as needed to help with technology issues and to answer any questions!

VOLUNTEERS
Volunteers in the Connect Online Group Programs are able to sign up to host various groups throughout the year, based on their interests and availability. The flexibility of our Virtual Groups also allows volunteers to host brand-new groups they help to design if they have a particular skill they want to share with a group of Littles, like knitting, coding, and more!
Volunteers from across Northern BC use Zoom to connect with their group, and can share their screen to play games with the Littles, watch videos together, and provide demonstrations of hands-on activities. We provide all volunteers with the supplies needed to participate, as well as extensive training on using Zoom to facilitate fun and engaging groups!
Meet virtually with a group of Littles for 1.5 hours a week for 6 weeks
Meetings take place weekday evenings or on the weekends
Share your Zoom screen to play games or puzzles, watch videos, and do other online activities together
Provide live demonstrations of hands-on activities, like arts and crafts projects or science experiments
Volunteers in the Virtual Group Programs must be 19 years of age or older and have a schedule that will allow them to lead a group on weekday evenings or on the weekends. For volunteers younger than 19, you can still get involved by helping out as a tech volunteer.
